Visible laser mount for 40W laser cutter alignment
thingiverse
The challenge lies in calibrating the 40W laser cutter, as the beam itself is imperceptible and tends to obscure the mirrors with smoke when burning through adhesive tapes. To address this issue, I designed a jig that can be securely attached to the end of the laser cutter for precise alignment using a visible laser beam. One crucial point to remember is to remove the jig before attempting to utilize the laser again. The laser module in question is a 'duinotech' red laser diode unit sourced from Jaycar, an Australian electronics retailer, which fits snugly within the jig and can be held firmly in place with a couple of drops of gluegun adhesive. A photograph of the module has been attached, along with detailed instructions on how to integrate it at the end of the tube. Additionally, I have placed a piece of tape over the lenses to serve as a reference point for identifying where the invisible laser light strikes, facilitating accurate alignment with the visible laser beam.
