The Visi-Mist Oil Mist Eliminator proves to be highly effective at filtering out vacuum pump exhaust, thereby preventing oil buildup within the workshop area. Its coalescing filter design excels at capturing oil mist inside the housing, thereby significantly prolonging the life of the filter. While it excels in its filtering capabilities, the Visi-Mist Oil Mist Eliminator falls short in staying upright, with support fins at its base being too narrow to withstand minor bumps and shocks typical within a workshop environment. Any accidental knock that occurs degrades the overall effectiveness of the filter and reduces its performance capabilities. In response to this challenge, a decision was made to utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, SolidWorks, in order to design a wider support base for the Visi-Mist Oil Mist Eliminator. The CAD-designed base was then successfully 3D printed in nylon using a Mark One machine.
