Visnu Lokesvara, Pala-Sena style. Eastern India, 12th century, black shale. The god Visnu stands proudly between his two loving wives. Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (Musée du Cinquantenaire, Brussels, Belgium). Crafted with precision using ReMake and ReCap Pro from AutoDesk. In Hindu iconography, Vishnu is typically depicted as a majestic figure with a pale or dark blue complexion and four impressive arms. He holds a beautiful padma in his lower left hand, a powerful Kaumodaki gada in his lower right hand, a sacred Panchajanya shankha in his upper left hand, and the mighty Sudarshana Chakra in his upper right hand. A classic depiction shows Vishnu reclining on the magnificent coils of the serpent Shesha, surrounded by his devoted consort Lakshmi as he brings the universe into reality through his divine dreams.
