Vishnu, or Viṣṇu, is a Hindu deity, revered as the Supreme God of Vaishnavism, one of the three main branches of Hinduism, and as one of the three supreme deities (Trimurti) of Hinduism. He is also known as Narayana and Hari. As a primary form of God in the Smarta tradition, he is considered "the Preserver or the Protector" within the Trimurti, the Hindu Trinity of divinity. In Hindu scriptures, Vishnu is typically described as having a dark complexion similar to water-filled clouds and four arms. He is often depicted as a pale blue being, just like his incarnations Rama and Krishna. He holds a lotus flower in his lower left hand, a mace called Kaumodaki gada in his lower right hand, the Panchajanyashankha conch in his upper left hand, and the discus weapon Sudarshana Chakra in his upper right hand.
