This is a simple vice that utilizes all 3D printed components (apart from some adhesive tape and glue). It has a very strong grip on objects, and its size is quite large in order to accommodate big items. I believe a great use for it is to clamp other various 3D printed projects for finishing work and sanding. This tool is an interesting one that can demonstrate the complex geometries capable of FDM 3D printers, and it's a cool piece with working parts. I printed this on my Robo 3D R1+, and my recommended infill/settings are listed below. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .20 or .30 mm Infill: I recommend using 35% infill on the vice base and vice clamp. For the other three parts, I recommend 90-100% infill. Notes: *Supports: You only need support on the vice base. You should print that on its side with supports everywhere. The vise clamp should be printed with the largest face down. The screws should be oriented with the handles down on the bed, and for the vice thread insert it's necessary to print with the hole perpendicular to the build platform. Post-Printing Assembly Put the screws and the vice clamp on as pictured. For the vice thread insert, you need to use super glue to affix it into place in the hole on the bottom of the vice base. Be sure to use plenty of glue so it is very solidly in place. I added some craft foam to the vice clamp to grip items tighter, and put some duct tape on the opposite side to give good grip.
