Adeline Virginia Woolf (née Stephen) was born on 25 January 1882 and died on 28 March 1941, leaving behind a legacy as an accomplished English writer. Her groundbreaking works earned her the title of one of the leading modernists of the twentieth century. During the years between the wars, Woolf held a prominent position in London's vibrant literary scene and played a pivotal role within the esteemed Bloomsbury Group, a collective of intellectuals who shaped the era's cultural landscape. Among her numerous best-selling novels are Mrs Dalloway (1925), To the Lighthouse (1927), and Orlando (1928), along with the influential book-length essay A Room of One's Own (1929). This seminal work put forth the powerful idea that a woman requires financial independence and personal space to produce meaningful literature. As Woolf so eloquently stated, "One must be an inventor, one must be able to invent oneself."
