Piece of the University of Seville. The Virgin of the Remedies is a Marian devotion that was spread by the Order of the Holy Trinity, The Trinitarians, congregation founded by Saint John of Mata and Saint Felix of Valois. Many cities have taken on this devotion as their patroness, and many churches and temples are consecrated to her name. It's a statue of rounded bulk, in carved and gilded wood, 1.93 cm high. The Virgin's vestments are worked with a decoration of upholstery in the gold. The Virgin presents herself from the front, holding in her left arm the Baby Jesus and in her right hand a scepter. She is supported by a cloud with three heads of cherubim. The baby stands naked and holds a small scepter in his left hand. 3D-scanned by Backup3D for the Virtual Portal of Heritage of Andalusian Universities
