Virgen de Fatima lithophane
thingiverse
Hello, this simple example shows how to convert a file image into a lithophane - another lithophane, I think. This print was made with white PLA at 0.2 mm resolution. The image-to-litho conversion was done at low resolution. If we have the file image, let's go to: http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/ upload your file image and adjust some simple parameters, choose the final form, and get a .stl file. Put it in your favorite slicer, and you're ready to print your photo lithophane. The sky is the limit...! Xmas lithos for glass windows, LED lamp lithos, Halloween candle lithos, birthday lithos, and so on... Enjoy! UPDATED 14/9/17 Added VFatima3.stl, a litho that prints vertically increases light contrast performance. Made with 5 vectors/pixels (optimal, I think). Thickness is 4.8 mm. For optimal results, adjust your slicer to 6 perimeter shells and add 5 skirt outlines. To print vertically, rotate -90° at Y, center, and arrange in your slicer. The size of the STL file is huge and can't load well in Thinkercad; decrease resolution to use it. Upgrade font: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRdMwuBQQ0U
