Viper X190 FPV Quadcopter Frame
pinshape
This is a frame for a freestyle/racing-sized quadcopter designed to be incredibly fast, lightweight, and aerodynamic while withstanding tough crashes. It can be printed without support on 200mm x 200mm print beds, accommodating standard 2205/2204 motors and electronics with 30.5mm mounting hole spacing, making it compatible with most racing quadcopter equipment. Here's an example build for getting started in the world of mini quads on a budget: Motors: BR2205-2300KV ESCs: RS20A-V2 Flight controller: Naze 32 Propellers: Kingkong-5040-5x4x3-3-Blade To complete the build, you'll also need nylon spacer screws, battery straps, and FPV gear. FPV Gear: Camera: I designed the pod for the RunCam PZ0420M camera. VTX: Eachine ET526 5.8G 40CH 25mW200mW600mW Switchable FPV Transmitter Antenna: Aomway 5.8GHz FPV 4 Leaf Clover AV Transmission RHCP Antenna You'll also need a transmitter, receiver, batteries, and soldering equipment. For a transmitter, I recommend the Taranis X9D PLUS; it's an excellent choice that will last for years to come. If you're on a tight budget, consider the FS i6, but keep in mind you may want something better soon. Four-cell batteries are highly recommended, and Infinity Graphene is a great and affordable option. Printing: Base Frame: This part needs to be printed with a strong and rigid material. While PLA will work, it's brittle and prone to snapping on hard crashes. ABS works well, but I recommend using PETG, nylon, or polycarbonate if you can print them. If printing with ABS, acetone smoothing is highly recommended as it strengthens layer bonds by reducing surface stress concentrations. Aeropod: This part should be printed with a flexible material like TPU or TPE, but I don't have that and used PLA instead. You'll need to add manual support for the screw holders to avoid getting unnecessary support structure on the part. The x4r mount was remixed from Frsky D4r-II tx board stack mount, and the ET526 was remixed from QAV210 Lisam TX Eachine ET526 holder. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
