This is an annular type of combuster consisting of an outer casing, inner casing, inner and outer flame tubes, inner support tube and the air tube support plate and embodys a ring of paired fuel air injectors and starting injectors to spray starting fuel. The support tube acts as a kind of backbone to the engine. The inner and outer flame tubes have holes to allow cooling air to pass into the combuster also the seams are shaped to guide more air into the joints.Fuel and oxidiser are injected into the combustion chamber, which is open at one end. An ignition source lights the fuel/oxidiser and produces very high temperature and pressure. The pressure acts equally on all parts of the combustion chamber - except the open end, where it exhausts out through a specially shaped nozzle designed to give a forward thrust accentuated by the bell/cone shape of the nozzle. Extra thrust is obtained by the pressure in the chamber acting on the forward end of the chamber opposite the exhaust nozzle.Thank you Dave.
