Violin model crafted in Maya. I chose this project because music has always captivated me, even though I've never committed the time to learn how to play an instrument myself. Just before diving into this model, I watched "Your Lie in April," a show centered around a violinist and pianist. After the series ended, I decided to tackle a violin since it seemed like a fun challenge, and it certainly was. The scroll at the top proved to be a significant hurdle for me. It took some time to figure out but I picked up numerous modeling techniques in the process, and now that I know I'm responsible for its creation, it looks impressive. The only thing I would change about this model is that I didn't create the F-holes from scratch; instead, I used texture. Initially, when I began working on the model and throughout the body's construction, I failed to recognize those sections as holes, which made adding them too late without starting over from scratch. Down the line, I hope to create more musical instruments – they present an exciting challenge.
