The components on Vinz Clortho's interrogation hat in Ghostbusters are not easily found, but can be printed with ease. The colander used is 7 star 9 inch and was purchased on eBay for $12. The small insulator requires 6-32 3/4 inch screws to secure it, while the taller ribbed and straight insulators use 1-1/4 inch 6-32 screws, and the 7 resistors require 1 inch screws. I have included three types of printable resistors, each a remix. The remixes allow for the core to be printed separately in a different color, and also enable a wire to be inserted to make the resistor leads appear authentic. You can flatten the ends if desired, but it is not necessary since the connectors attach on top. I painted the Mc250 Cal-R resistor with brass-colored paint before inserting the core into the shell. The other two resistors are plain PLA. The three types of insulators were determined from the movie and with the assistance of GBfans website contributors. Most of the wires match the film's accuracy, but it was extremely challenging to get everything correct. The "tail" in the movie was a ribbon cable, but I lacked the energy to glue the wires together. The Pro-tec chin strap is made from thin white leather and consists of four pieces: the cup, the cup-surround, and two straps. I used leather glue and clamps to create the creases where the straps join the cup, then glued on the two elastics. The results are very convincing. I created a cup press to shape the chin cup and hold it in place for gluing, as well as a "Pro-tec" stamp to apply the logo. I used acrylic paint lightly brushed onto the stamp before pressing it into the chin cup. The outcome is impressive. The chin straps are secured with old hockey helmet snaps. The Vince ears STL file includes the equivalent snap from the helmet, but made to fit over the 6-32 screw that also secures the insulator (make those two screws 1"). The nut passes through without interfering with the snap action, and the chin strap swivels as a bonus.
