Vinyl Siding Mounting Standoffs
thingiverse
I crafted this standoff specifically for attaching a TV to an outdoor patio wall with vinyl siding. Its primary function is to safeguard your exterior wall by preventing the siding from being crushed when mounting something to it. The center hole measures 9mm in diameter and is designed to accommodate a 5/16" lag screw. To install, simply use a keyhole saw to cut a circle the size of the smaller cylinder in your siding and slide the mount into place. The larger cylinder will sit outside the siding, providing a stable base for mounting and preventing the mount from falling behind the siding. If you're planning to use it in an area exposed to rain, it's essential to apply caulk around the mount as well as in the screw hole for added protection.
