Vinyl cutting on your ShapeOko
pinshape
A plastic adapter designed to fit an Roland-type pen-holder cutter on ShapeOko or similar 40x20 extrusions is printed and assembled. The required nut traps for M3 screws are added during the assembly process. To manufacture this adapter, print the part and incorporate two necessary nut traps for M3 screws. This information can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13824. Initially, it was considered using M5 screws but they proved to be too large. Instead, M3x10mm screws are ideal for this application. The holes intended for M5 screws may need to be reduced in size accordingly. Blade holders and blades can be sourced from eBay at a cost of less than $15. Although not easily visible, the adapter's operation is demonstrated in a short video available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUdoII-zoJY&feature=youtu.be.
