To create a PCB using vinyl cutting, start by designing your board in a vector graphics software and export as a .svg or .jpg file. Cut the design on a vinyl cutter with the black and white image file. Weed any unnecessary parts from the vinyl sticker. Prepare the copper clad board by roughing its surface with a pot scrubber. Apply the vinyl to the board, then etch it in ferric chloride solution. Rinse and solder components onto the board using traditional through-hole techniques or soldering wires between pads for connections. Alternatively, if you lack access to a vinyl cutter, consider cutting by hand with a utility knife, visiting a sign shop, or outsourcing the cutting process.
