Vintage VW Beetle Star Wars Imperial Cog Hood Ornament

The factory VW emblem on my '74 VW Beetle was missing two crucial rubber plugs that secured it, prompting me to carefully remove it before losing it while driving. As I had it out, I decided to create a custom emblem for a more personalized touch. To install the new logo, I employed 3mm screws and washers, taking advantage of the space beneath the hood. Although it proved somewhat tricky to balance the logo in one hand while screwing it on from underneath, I managed to accomplish the task with some effort. To access the two holes nearest the windshield, I had to carefully grind a couple of half-moon clearance slots into the sheet metal support beneath the emblem. While this minor modification might raise some concerns about long-term structural integrity, I remain confident that it won't cause any lasting damage.
