Vintage Style Party Patio Lanterns
thingiverse
I designed vintage lanterns from the sixties as I was having trouble slicing and printing lamp shades created by mxfaiman. I don't think it's connected to how the models were made, but Slic3r can have issues rendering simple cubes. These designs feature print angles that most printers should be able to handle. The lamp shades are printed in two parts. Part B is printed on top of Part A without taking it off the build plate. The only thing removed between prints is the brim and the placement border. These replica shades aren't made to any scale or to fit C9 light strings. I'll be creating lamp holders and hangers for these soon, so bulk LEDs can be used. I'm planning to use gel quick connect crimps, a reel of bulk green wire, and nylon cord to string them up. I created these models from scratch in OpenSCAD over several months. I'll be making more designs once I learn how to replicate them. If you'd like any of these designs resized, feel free to leave me a comment and I'll upload a modified set when I get the chance. Print time for the lamp shades is 35 minutes for a delta printer.
