I'm not sure this will make the top 10 for downloads, but maybe someone can still find use in it. My father's Craftsman radial arm saw has been passed down to me. He bought it new in the late sixties or early seventies. For several years, the factory on/off switch has been on its last legs and finally stopped working about a month ago. Of course, that switch is no longer produced, and due to its unique design, I couldn't find a compatible replacement. So, I created a mount that screws into the factory holes on the rounded top of the arm. This allowed me to attach an outdoor switch box (which I cut a hole in the bottom) and ran the wires up to a safety switch. I had to splice in longer wires to reach the switch. The result looks pretty amateurish, and might not meet UL code requirements. However, for the few times a year I use the saw, it's good enough for me, and works perfectly. And it's much easier to E-stop than the old switch that I used to struggle with to turn off or on. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
