Dune sandworm info and instructions: 1.You will need to print the jaw piece (3) times and I recommend printing it upright, so the hinge is closest to the printbed and make sure it is well supported including the teeth. 2. I have a somewhat skinny resin printer, so I had to print the head on it's side and put in a ton of supports in order to keep the teeth from wanting it to fail on either the top or bottom of the inside of the mouth. If you have the print bed space you should print the head flat on the base. 3.The tail is separated into two pieces that must be glued together after being printed, unless you have a large enough print bed, then you can print the whole tail file. Note: Two part epoxy glue from the hardware store works best for this. Hot glue does not stick well to resin. 4.The jaw hinges have pilot holes for pins. For easy cheap pins I used and recommend something that everyone probably has lying around. Cut up a metal clothes hanger to use as the hinge pins. You will need to drill out the pilot holes in the print depending on the diameter of hanger that you use. Pin should fit the hole as tight as possible. 5.The jaws will have limited movement at first. This is primarily because they need to break in a little. You will notice that they catch ever so slightly on the head piece on either side of the hinges. VERY IMPORTANT: these areas act as friction points to help keep the jaws open when posing the figure. You can do some very light sanding/trimming with a hobby knife on these areas in order to get the desired amount of friction. 6.To help keep the jaws closed I used small cylindrical earth magnets and drill small holes near the point of the jaws on wither side and glued in magnets. One magnet per side of each jaw for total of 6 magnets. 7.It is not practical to print up a body for this at the scale shown. In order to have a item that would be pretty much universally available, I designed it to be used with vent ducting from a clothes dryer which is 4" or 100mm duct. You can buy vinyl clothes dryer vent kits on ebay. Most come in white, but there are black versions that have aluminum lining and are actually coated in vinyl. Kits are between $10-15. This is the version I used in the pictures. Duct material should fit pretty tight to the tail and head pieces and no gluing required. 8. If you want to print at a different scale you would have to print your pieces as to what type of duct/tubing is available to you. ENJOY!
