Vintage radio knob
thingiverse
I'm really stoked about that vintage radio knob I made. It's an exact copy of a design from an original intact knob, and it just snaps right onto the shaft of this potentiometer. Volume is what I'm working with here, and it looks totally cool on there. My first print was done in red filament, which really gives it some nice contrast. Printer Settings My go-to printer for this job is a Vertex k8400 - works like a charm every time. Settings No rafts were needed, so I left that setting alone. Supports weren't necessary either, and skipping those made the print even faster. The layers are at 0.1mm thick, which produces much nicer results than the 0.2mm I used in these pics. I went with an infill percentage of 25%, which still keeps the thing solid while saving on filament. Notes That being said, my best result came from printing at a layer thickness of just 0.1mm. Anything higher will compromise how nice it looks.
