Vintage payphones like the Dial Pay Phone once thrived across the United States in the 1960s, providing a vital lifeline for those without access to personal phones. Strategically placed in bustling hotel lobbies, train stations, and other public hotspots, these iconic devices enabled people to stay connected on-the-go. I set out to meticulously recreate one of these relics after it had seen its fair share of wear and tear, yet still functioned remarkably well. Using 3ds Max as my modeling tool, I painstakingly crafted the phone's design, while Substance Painter was employed to add a layer of realism through expert texturing.
