vintage combs remixed for 3d printing

These combs are fantastic, and I wanted to create them in thermoplastic so I could give them a nicer shape by heat forming it. I took the SVG into Inkscape and exported it as a PNG, then used that to make the STL in MatterControl (I love the handy image-to-path and extrusion tools). All STL files will print flat and need to be heat formed in hot water. Check out https://www.instructables.com/id/Thermoforming-3D-Printed-PLA-for-Use-in-Prosthetic/ for excellent, clear instructions on this method (thanks to the original author for making it so easy to follow). I printed them from my XYZ printer. Unfortunately, the decoration on the fan comb doesn't translate well to FDM printing, so my version is plain. I've added photos of formed and partially coated combs. They need another coat!
