Vintage aero wheel
thingiverse
Vintage WW1 airplane wheel, scaled down to 1/5th of the original size but easily adjustable to fit your needs. The wheel hub is precision-sized to accommodate a 1/4" outer diameter K & S brass tube. To assemble the wheel, insert the tube into the rear half and apply cyanoacrylate adhesive to the surface of the front half, taking care to avoid the center area. Once the glue sets, carefully lower the front half onto the rear half over the tube, ensuring that the valve stem aligns perfectly with the "fabric" cutout. The original wheel used a 16mm diameter neoprene cord for its tires, suitable for hard runways and grass surfaces. However, alternative files are provided to print either a separate or built-in tire design, ideal for use on grass runways only. To achieve optimal strength and durability, it's essential to print the wheel with at least 20% infill.
