The origin of the Corinthian column can be traced back to Callimachus, a renowned artist credited for inventing its distinctive capital. Inspired by an acanthus basket placed on a tomb, he observed the plant's leaves and incorporated the design into his columns. The Corinthian Order, developed by the Hellenes of the Corinthian tribe around 550 BCE during the peak of the Hellenic Empire, built upon the Doric and Ionic Orders. It features taller columns with unique proportions and ionic spirals combined with acanthus plant design. Despite minor technical errors, it adheres to Vingolas' relations and proportions, exemplifying the most stylized and extravagant order in architecture.
