Viking/Vendel Key to Nowhere

Key to nowhere, this is a model of a Vendel period, keylike object from the Ihre Burial Field at Gotland. The specific individual this one is modelled after was found in grave 159. This object is very simliar to other items from this period and area, however, it is not a key, since the curved decoration on the neck makes it unusable. It would not fit the type of lock these keys where made for. Perhaps it is symbolic or simly jewellery, the woman in grave 159 had two pairs of idential keylike objects.
