Viking Padlock
thingiverse
This project is a blast. Check out the YouTube link to see it in action: https://youtu.be/UpcQWu-Bjsw. A contemporary 3D-printed version of an ancient Viking padlock and key has been created. These locks were used from the 11th to the 17th century, utilizing ward springs and a cleverly designed key. You can print this replica with metal-like PLA filament for a rugged, rustic look. The bright colors used in this design serve not only as a creative touch but also make it easier to identify and understand its intricate components. Have fun making this replica! However, keep in mind that the holding strength of this 3D-printed lock has not been thoroughly tested. It works perfectly on my locker, though. Remember, this is just a replica, so don't use it to secure your valuables.
