The Drakkar, a ship utilized by Scandinavian seafarers for trade, exploration, and conquest, evolved significantly from the 9th to 13th centuries. Inspired by drawings from an 1880 Gokstad grave find, the modern Drakkar or Viking Longship measures 77 ft. 11 in. long with a 16 ft. 7 in. breadth and 5 ft. 9 in. depth. Propelled by one square sail and 16 oars per side, it could reach speeds of 10-15 knots with wind assistance. Its shallow draft and lightweight construction allowed operations in rivers and on land, while its klinker oak hull design provided excellent seaworthiness. A low poly 3D model is available for download at a manageable file size of 5.6Mb (including textures) or under 2Mb for the Blender file with an additional 3.3Mb for textures. The textured scene features 18 images and showcases a simple seascape, sky, and backdrop.
