Viking Drinking Horn

Viking Drinking Horn

I like drinking beer with my bros and I wanted to drink my chosen elixir from the manliest vessel possible. Naturally, I gravitated towards a Viking drinking horn and I wanted to 3d print it. I couldn't find a stl that I liked. So, I designed my own and decided to make it available here. FYI the horn part is rather large at 10.5" tall and 4" round and it can hold about 42oz or 1250ml, because go big or go home. I went through a few iterations until I settled on the 3 pieces that glue together. I really liked how smooth the horn piece turns out in vase mode without a z-seam showing. I tried painting the horn which is a good way to create a smooth finish but for the effort I like to just buy the colored filament I want. I then use a food safe non-toxic clearcoat to seal the printed plastic and let it cure the recommended amount of time. After all that, Cheers! I also designed a stand to compliment the horn (see my other uploads to find) because even the most hardened drinker must rest his drinking arm eventually, and when not drinking it makes a nice display piece.
