Game/VR/AR ready low-poly model of a Viking Age double edged sword with 4K PBR-textures built to real-world scale (metric system). The typical one-handed, double-edged Viking Age swords (sometimes called Carolingian swords) were in widespread use across large parts of Europe during the 8th to 11th centuries. They developed from earlier Merovingian swords, which in turn were inspired by long Roman swords, the spatha. The Viking Age sword was an expensive weapon specialized for cutting with a broad blade and a relatively blunt point. Most types of Viking Age swords only had small crossguards and were designed to be used with a shield. This specific Viking Age sword is 91 cm long and has a hilt of Petersen Type H, which was common from around 750 to 950 AD. The model and PBR-textures are prepared for use with Unity 5 and Unreal Engine 4. They can easily be adapted to other game engines or used in various applications. The model was created using Blender and Substance Painter. Preview images were rendered with Iray.
