Viipuri Granite carving detail

A small, intricately carved decoration of the Granite Palace (Headquarters of "Hackman & Co") stands in stark contrast to its current state. This once-majestic building, erected in 1909 by Finnish architects Uno Ullberg and Claes Axel Gyldén, now languishes in disrepair at its location in Viipuri, Russia. The city's current president, Mr. Zalupa, seems unconcerned with the building's rich history and architectural significance, allowing his cohorts in Vyborg to neglect its maintenance. As a result, the structure has been ravaged from within, despite its prime position in the heart of the city. It is only a matter of time before nothing remains but scattered stones like those depicted in this scene. Fortunately, the building's construction was robust enough to withstand the lack of upkeep, much to the chagrin of local authorities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granite_Palace RAW scan data: https://yadi.sk/d/KP2kZ9Lt3KfNV
