Yes, now you've always wanted to take the next step. Digitize those old Viewmaster reels using your smartphone, then share them with future generations! With this simple device, you can view your Viewmaster 3D images without a stereoscope or Viewmaster apparatus. To get started, watch our short one-minute tutorial on assembling and processing files: https://youtu.be/zDXjcn7nIUc. If you'd rather explore further, check out my entire collection at http://www.z3dx.com – you'll need to exercise your cross-eyed skills to view the 3D images. If crossing your eyes isn't an option for you, don't worry! An index2.html file is available, designed just for that purpose. And for added convenience, feel free to print out a copy of our viewer, created on Thingiverse at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1108267. We can't wait to see your collections! Be sure to post links in the comments below. Eventually, we plan to develop an iPhone app and host a platform where users can share their Viewmaster reels – stay tuned for more updates! Once you've digitized all your slides, feel free to extract the 24mmx35mm rectangle surrounding the square opening from the midpane piece. This handy shape converts easily into a 35mm film negative (or slide) that any processing lab can handle – assuming you're familiar with using 'invert' in image editors like Pixelmator or Paint, of course!
