Vietnam Airlines Announces Business Performance For First Six Months Of 2016

Vietnam Airlines reported impressive business results in the first six months of 2016, despite challenges such as economic slowdown, instability, and terrorism in Europe and overcrowded infrastructure at Tan Son Nhat international airport. The company's total consolidated revenue is estimated at over VND 36 trillion, with pre-tax profits of VND 1,600 billion, reaching nearly 7% of the target set for 2016. Vietnam Airlines' parent company recorded an estimated revenue of over VND 29 trillion and VND 1,140 billion in estimated profits. In response to market growth, the airline completed its restructuring and acquisition with ANA Holdings, who officially became a strategic shareholder on July 1st. Additionally, Vietnam Airlines was awarded 4-star airline certification at the SkyTrax World Airline Awards event at Farnborough International Airshow.
