Viedma Glacier - Argentina

Viedma Glacier - Argentina

thingiverse

Viedma Glacier in Argentina constructed using high-resolution data from the Space Shuttle (about 2.4 million polygons). This model was built with an advanced, cutting-edge version of SRTM2STL that is soon to be released to the public. The source code for creating detailed files at 3 arcsecond resolution is available now on github under a permissive GNU license. Go to github and search for SRTM2STL to access the software. To print this map, consider reducing its size slightly to minimize warping issues when using PLA printing materials. Big maps can lead to significant distortion, especially when creating raised relief maps with complex topography. If you've developed a method to control warping, it's worth experimenting with large-scale prints to see if improved results are possible.
