Victron SmartShunt Mounting Bracket
prusaprinters

I needed to mount a Victron SmartShunt inside my Baddeley MKIII Astromech droid, but I found it would be easier to make the connections if it were rotated on its side, and I didn't want to drill into either the body wall or the floor to attach it.

So I designed this bracket that can simply be epoxied into place, and which will allow me to easily attach/detach the shunt as needed.

The shunt attaches to the bracket using M5 hardware - there are slots on each side for a standard M5 hex nut to be slid into place (held there with some hot glue) and 15 or 16mm M5 bolts are long enough to attach the shunt without extending fully through the bracket.

I added some raised lettering to indicate which end is the battery and which is system - just use a permanent marker or sharpie to color the letters so they are easily readable.

For added installation flexibility, I have included a “Bolt” option that includes an extra pair of holes on the bottom surface, so that the bracket can be bolted to a mounting surface.
