Victory (Nikè)
myminifactory
Victory (Nikè) hails from an Attic workshop in the vicinity of Athens' theater of Dionysos, a Hellenistic period treasure found in the Musée des Arts et d'Histoire located within the Musée du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, Belgium. This fragmentary sculpture captures Nike in full flight, its garment processing skillfully conveying speed and movement. Despite losing its wings, which were originally attached to the upper back and deployed backward, this figure would have typically stood at the top or end of a building's pediment (acroteria).
