Victory (Nikè)

Victory (Nikè)

Victory, Hellenistic period, Attic workshop, originates from the theater district in Athens. Musée des Arts et d'Histoire houses this piece in Brussels, Belgium. Captured with ReMake and ReCap pro from AutoDesk. This broken sculpture represents Nike, Victory, in mid-air flight. Garment folds convey a sense of speed and movement. The wings, attached to the upper back, had to deploy backward; unfortunately, they've vanished. Such figures usually stood at pediment tops or ends (acroteria) of buildings.
