This caryatid sculpture was created to accompany to the Monument to Hartmannsweilerkopf, worked on by Bourdelle between 1924 and 1925. The national monument pays hommage to the men who fell during the Great War, designed by both Robert Danis and Antoine Bourdelle. The structure was inaugurated in 1932 by the then President of the French Republic, Albert Lebrun.
