Victorian Rosette Block for door and window trim
thingiverse
A delicate flower-shaped block to match a specific molding style is what we're looking for. I used one of Bratskbars' beautiful designs as the main decorative piece. Be sure to check out the coordinating plinth block, also a remix from another of Bratskbars' designs. We printed it in wood filament and will stain it later. Check out this YouTube video to see a picture of a stained one in action. https://youtu.be/0BY3bLxwZ4o Print Settings: Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer Model: Creator Pro Rafts: No Raft Required Supports: No Supports Needed Resolution: 0.2mm Layer Thickness Infill: 20% Infill Density Notes: Scaling the rosette to be 40.00mm square and making the Z Offset -6.00mm turns it into a great quick-printing test piece for wood filament. Our FlashForge Creator Pro printer with the MicroSwiss All-Metal Hot End is really showing off its capabilities here! We're using Simplify 3D settings, Hatchbox Wood Filament PLA: Extrusion Multiplier: 1.1 Extrusion Width: Manually set to 0.40mm Retraction Distance: 7.00mm Extra Restart Distance: 0.00mm Retraction Vertical Lift: 0.00mm Retraction Speed: 95.0mm/s Coasting Distance: 0.20mm Left Extruder Temperature: 200°C Default Printing Speed: 70.0mm/s Outline Underspeed: 100% Solid Infill Underspeed: 100% Support Structure Underspeed: 100% X/Y Axis Movement Speed: 130.0mm/s Z Axis Movement Speed: 20.0mm/s We've got our printer dialed in to perfection, with only retracting when crossing open spaces and forcing retraction between layers. We're also only wiping the extruder for outer-most perimeters, which is really helping us achieve a smooth finish.
