Victorian Hurricane Lamp
pinshape
I have crafted a 3D model of a charming Victorian-style hurricane lamp that houses a small battery-powered tea light. The design consists of multiple interlocking parts that screw together seamlessly, allowing users to adjust its height depending on their preference. If all components are used, the lamp stands at an impressive 26cm tall; however, by combining certain pieces as shown in the gallery, it can be shortened to a more compact size. It's essential to use tea lights with diameters not exceeding 4cm for optimal performance. This model is part of an ongoing experiment aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of Blender in creating intricate designs that demand precision. The threads used in this design were generated using OpenSCAD, specifically leveraging the library developed by aubenc (available on Thingiverse as #8796). Nevertheless, the assembly and overall design were accomplished entirely within Blender, with the threads being imported only when necessary. The primary goal of this model was to push the boundaries of my printers in terms of clarity and overhang capabilities. Notably, none of the individual components require support during printing, allowing for a smoother and more efficient printing process.
