Victorian Goblet face illusion

Victorian Goblet face illusion

I stumbled upon a similar concept on a 3D printing forum, but since the designer didn't respond to requests for the STL file, I decided to give it a try myself. This design replicates a Victorian goblet with an external profile resembling a face - and because it's symmetrical, each side is identical. My research indicates that similar goblets were created with Queen Victoria's face on one side and Prince Albert's on the other, but my design skills aren't advanced enough for such fine detail. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Mendel90 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm (a 0.2mm setting would likely produce a better result) Infill: 20% - possibly too high Notes: I experimented with printing this design as a spiralized vase using open-source slicer software, but the angles at the bottom of the shape are too shallow. I also attempted to merge two GCode files together after slicing it as a "normal" object and then as a vase, but was unsuccessful. Merging these files might be possible to save plastic and avoid layer boundary marks. I used a 0.3mm layer height for a quick print, but better results could likely be achieved with a smaller layer height setting.
