The first motorized articulated vehicle, the Victoria Combination, was introduced by La Societe Parisienne in 1898. This French cycle firm developed a small front-wheel drive voiturette called the Victoria Combination. The car consisted of a lightweight two-seater trailer shaped like a Victoria and combined with the back axle and running gear from a motor tricycle placed in front and tiller-steered. It was one of the first cars to use this unique configuration and may have been the first front-wheel driven vehicle ever made. The 2.1kW De Dion-Bouton air-cooled engine powered the car, but several different engines were later fitted. Around 400 Victoria Combinations were sold by the end of 1901, with about ten examples still in existence today. The initial price for this vehicle was 3000 French francs. Its dimensions are impressive: 2520mm in length, 1290mm in width, a wheelbase of 1720mm, and a track of 1130 mm. The height is 1315 mm, and the top speed reaches an impressive 16 km/h.
