Vickers machinegun

An actual working model of a Vickers machinegun may seem like an exciting prospect, but let's be real, it's not going to fire any rounds. This is a 1:1 scale model of the iconic gun that was fitted to WW1 aircraft such as the Sopwith Camel, minus all the intricate inner workings. The outside has been meticulously modelled, leaving the interior components unrepresented. The goal behind this project is to create an excellent starting point for crafting a 3D-printed replica of the Vickers machinegun. To achieve this, I've relied on drawings and photos sourced from the internet. However, it's worth noting that there are some discrepancies in the information available, which may lead to ambiguity regarding certain part names and shapes. Additionally, it appears that there were various design iterations for the basic model. If someone with expertise in WW1 machineguns or access to more accurate drawings wants to correct my assumptions, I would greatly appreciate their input. To transform this model into a printable one, several steps are necessary. First and foremost, scaling down the dimensions as needed is crucial. Subsequently, various compromises will need to be made, such as deciding whether to print individual components or combine them into solid objects. The "Vickers machinegun" object serves as a single entity combining all other parts (excluding ammunition) to illustrate their assembly configuration. Recent updates include modifying the barrel to connect near the muzzle and incorporating an Ammo Belt, both as a combined part and separate components. Please feel free to contribute your own remixes to this design.
