Vicente Marrero Suárez was a Spanish traditionalist Carlist ideologue and activist linked to Opus Dei, born in Arucas in 1922 and passed away in the year 2000. Following the end of the Civil War, he started his Law degree at the University of La Laguna in 1939, then moved to Salamanca a year later, where he graduated with a degree in Law in 1941. In 1942, he took courses for his doctoral studies at the University of Madrid. In 1951, he was one of the founders of the Cálamo publishing house and the Esplandián collection, in which he published his first book: Picasso and the Bull. The following year, he published El poder entrañable, his first book on political thought. In January 1956, the first issue of the monthly magazine Punta Europa appeared, which he directed until 1966. At the beginning of the 1970s, he started working as a professor at the newly created Faculty of Information Sciences at the Complutense University. The bronze bust is the work of artist José Perera Valido.
