Vice. (70 and 95mm between jaws)
prusaprinters
Yet another vice!I see a lot of vices on this website. However, they almost all have something in common. The clamping axis is high and just below the jaws. Other than that, some of them have a short reach. And otherwise, the structural integrity is nothing to write home about. I have tried to improve all that. This one stands up well to abuse. The span is about 70 millimeter (or 95 with the M8 version). The jaws are very firm. The sledge is long so the forces distribute themselves better. It even has an anvil (haha). Anyway, it almost looks like the real thing. His brother of cast steel ;) Whether this all worked out, I'll see in the comments.Unable to find M6x130 bolts, I decided to glue the knob to a threaded end. With today's 2 component glues, that's a permanent connection. I used 'Bizon Kombi Rapide'. I think this is about the same. Should you still find a bolt, there are other options where I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Here's an example. You need extra:One M6 (M8) rod. About 130 (180) mm long. Depends on the version you are downloading. One M6 (M8) nut.Three M3x16 (M4x25) boltsThree M3(M4) nutsGlue. 2 components is the best for this case, like mentioned above.Optional: One M6 endcap (for looks and an endstop)Optional: Washers and a clamp (see pictures)If M6 is too big or M8 is too small, simply resize it all to M4, M8, … M80I printed this from PLA. It needs supports! Everything fits but watch out for elephant foots. It's my first multipart project. If something is wrong, please let me know so I can fix it.2024 June 21 - 20:44 UTC.
