Vibroplex Code Practice Oscillator Box
thingiverse
A simple box to transport your Vibroplex code practice oscillator more conveniently. The removal of the potentiometer tab is optional, but to achieve a flush knob, it is necessary. (see pictures) Pay special attention to the feed-through of the speaker wire. Both wires should be parallel to each other, and the dimensions of the hole will prevent twisting. I am a minimalist designer; thus, the opening for the #6-32 nut is not large enough to grip with a socket. The use of a flat head #3.5 will prevent rotation while tightening. The PCB and speaker box are directional, they should be flush together, and the 180 rotation of the housing may be necessary. A simple overhand knot should be used on the 9v wire to prevent pulling on the PCB. A battery holster may be desired and can be printed after the PCB box, or there is another STL file that can be printed all at once, don’t forget 3D supports. The oscillator should be powered with a 9v or benchtop DC power supply set to 0.14 ~ .20 amps/9v. I attempted to use a 9V max 1amp universal power supply and blew the IC LM386 on two separate boards. 4 x 6-32 by 2-1/2" or 3" (cut down by .40") and 4 x 6-32 nuts
