Vibration Isolator for Prusa Mendel

Check out this video for an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcyL4Q-zxrg To use these vibration isolators, you will need four 8mm ball bearings or similar alternatives, such as marbles. This 3-part isolation system consists of a top ball isolator that allows the machine to move freely in all directions, reducing lateral movement transferred to the table. It requires an 8mm ball bearing. The bottom part is a spring that further reduces any remaining vibrations and also has holders for a coil spring to help support heavier machines. Using these isolators has improved my registration and reduced noise levels. Despite its seemingly unstable appearance, I have not been able to knock mine over, even with forceful shoves. To assemble, place the smaller part of the ball isolator on top of the spring (a bit of glue can help secure it). Then add the ball bearing, followed by the other part of the ball isolator. Finally, position your machine in the dips and use a bit of glue for stability.
