Vibration Damper for Ultimaker

Vibration Damper for Ultimaker

thingiverse

This revised Vibration Isolator v3, based on lazzymonk's design, is tailored for the Ultimaker printer layout. To print this 4mm-thick part with two walls precisely, use exact 0.4mm thickness to prevent drill-infill vibration. Ensure wall connections are secure and slightly over-extrude for better fit. Print a mirrored second copy for testing with back feet. Assembling requires force; click inner piece down after positioning. The stiff springs counteract Ultimaker's top-heavy weight, so be cautious of oscillations at the top. Over time, PLA or ABS creep may cause deformation, but this design accommodates some creep. After 2.5 months, my back feet showed noticeable bending yet still lifted weight. Use PLA/PHA mix from ColorFabb if desired; PHA's effect on creep is unknown. Eventually, you may need to switch front and back legs or reprint due to permanent deformations.
