Vibration damper feet for Prusa i3 MK2S
thingiverse
Some feet for my Prusa i3 MK2S printer will probably fit clones as well, The Prusa i3 is an amazing printer, I'm not complaining but some frequencies get into the house's structure from the rack and can be heard by everyone... Although silent mode is much quieter, it's not the solution in every case. I made these feet with Filaflex from Filamentworld and they work quite well. I'm really happy with my i3 which eats this flexible material as well as PLA. 30mm/sec, 230°C, printbed at 35° with baby powder (best tip ever!), 0.2mm height. The other settings are still the same as the FFF profile directly from the Prusa site... I chose to split the S3D process at 7mm. The lower part has just 10% infill, the upper part has 30%. This makes the whole thing with the walls carry the weight and not lead vibrations directly into the ground (just a thought). Depending on your filament, you'll need to adjust or test the infill for the feet not to sag over time and weight... Update! I just made my first print with these feet and am happy they make much more of a difference than expected. Not only is it really quiet in my workshop now, but especially the high frequencies no longer come through, also it seems that many vibrations get absorbed. At least all resonances and ringing are suddenly gone. This Moai is printed with 0.1mm and 60mm/sec...
