VGA Plug for Apple Lightning Cable

Inspired by the viral tweet, modelled by me and printed by you, this VGA cable cover for your Apple Lightning cable is just what your inner 90s kid needs.

Included is a Fusion 360 parametric model so you can change the cable plug size (height, width, depth), the “neck” of the cable diameter and the cable diameter itself. You could even use it for a real VGA plug, i guess, killing the meme immediately.

To print, choose either the Multi-Material (MMU) or Multi-Part 3mf file.

For Multi-Material, make the blue parts blue and the silver parts silver. No supports needed.

For Multi-Part, print the main parts in blue and the face in silver, the blue parts need supports but if you open the model in recent versions of prusaslicer those are painted-on for you already.

Once printed, remove the small bridges at the neck with a sharp knife, insert your cable and clip the parts together, add a small amount of superglue and perhaps some sugru to precisely locate the cable in the plug and if you'd like it to hold together longer.

Please note, this is the first printable version of this model, and was split into two parts which clip together weakly. I'll look at making future versions available if you send me your plug dimensions.
