Spacer for swapping grips on a VFC SCAR-H. Nobody makes grips that fit the SCAR-H out of the box, due to the fact that the gearbox sits up higher in the chassis than other guns. This means you can't use an M4-Compatible grip, because there's a huge gap between the grip and gearbox. This installs inside the grip cavity to take up the gap between the new pistol grip and gearbox.Installation will require you to change the grip screws out with two new M3x14 screws, preferably with oversize washers behind them to better mimic the stock flanged button head screws. Do not use longer screws than this! You will need to drill the motor tower hole to 11mm and remove your motor spring so the motor can be installed high up enough in the grip to contact the bevel gear properly. This will require installing an O-Ring (US Size #013) under the motor tower around the front boss to act as a shock absorber. You may also need to shift your pinion gear up higher on the shaft. All of this will vary from grip to grip.If the grip you've chosen doesn't have enough motor height adjustability, you can glue washers to the back of it to increase depth, but most grips should have more than enough adjustability, especially if you move the pinion gear further up the shaft.Do not move the pinion up so far that you exceed 1/2 the pinion height of inserted shaft. Too shallow of engagement could let the pinion wobble.I would not recommend using the VFC QRS grip I used, as it required removing reinforcement bevels inside the grip pocket to allow the motor to seat deeper. This took forever with a wood burning pen and several files.- Update 7/19/24 -Plate updated to add the 2 missing screw holes for 4-screw hole gearboxes like Retro Arms. Instructions updated to call for M3x14 screws for the grip, not x12. Center hole shrunk to 9.4mm to better grip the motor tower.- Update 8/28/24 -I'll be redoing this plate soon to be less fiddly. I've got my hands on a PTS EPG, which is square down to the bottom and allows the motor to move freely. With this, I should be able to change the spacer plate and allow for continued use of the motor spring.
